welcome
Welcome to the Culture and Family Lab! Led by Qing Zhou, Assistant Professor in Psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, the lab examines the influence of temperament, family socialization and culture in the development of psychopathology and competence in childhood and adolescence. Graduate students in our lab also explore the development of executive functions in childhood, bilingualism, student-teacher relationships, and the influence of neighborhoods on child development.
Projects currently underway at the lab include the Kids and Family Project and the New Beginnings project. The Kids and Family Project is a longitudinal study on the risk and protective factors of Chinese American children's mental health. The New Beginnings Program concentrates on the adaptation of an established parent-based prevention program for children from divorced Chinese American families.
